Error description

  • After a shared receiver channel fails, because the CHIN and
QMGR is terminated, shared channel recovery attempts to restart
the shared channel by another CHINIT in the QSG, but it
    receives message:

+CSQX479E CSQ1 CSQXRESP Channel yyyyyyy.CSQG.00 is active on
active on CSQ2, shared channel adoption failed.

A shared receiver channel was running on a chinit which
    subsequently terminated.
The channel was restarted and attempted to connect to a chinit
that was still active. This detected the orphaned shared status
entry and attempted to adopt the channel. rriAdoptSharedMCA
checked the user data for the stopped chinit to determine if the
channel could still be running on the owning chinit, however an
error in this check caused it to incorrectly determine the
    channel could be running.
As a result the adoption process attempted to send the stopped
chinit a message requesting it end the channel. As the original
chinit was still not running no response was received for this
    request, and channel adoption failed.

Problem conclusion

  • Channel adoption processing has been changed to correctly check
the state of the qmgr and chinit where the channel was running
previously, ensuring that a message to kill the channel is sent
if the owning qmgr/chinit are running and able to process the
    message.
