PI58899: SAPBW: XQE-GEN-000n AND XQE-GEN-0018 ERROR WHEN QUERYING ON SAP HIERARCHY HAVING A DOT IN THEIR MUN

Error description

• SAP BW hierarchies having a specific character in their MUN,
  here a dot are causing errors in Framework Manager and studios.
  Here an example MUN: 0COSTCENTER 1000CC_V005.2012
  
  The metadata information can be successfully imported but not
  queried.
  Depending in which tool the problematic hierarchy is tested the
  error code and message varies.
  
  Framework Manager returns:
  XQE-GEN-0018 Query Service internal error has occurred, please
  see the log for details.
  
  The studio(s) return, for example:
  Cognos Workspace Advanced:
  
  (a) Release 10.1.1 FP4+
     XQE-GEN-0002 An unexpected exception occurred:
     java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException
  
  (b) Release 10.2.1 FP9
     XQE-GEN-0005 Found an internal error:
     Index: 0, Size: 0
  
  Cognos Analytics, Report Studio:
     XQE-GEN-0005 Found an internal error:
     java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException
  

Local fix

• Where possible:
  (a) do not created MUNs in SAP BW having a dot;
  (b) or replace the dot for example by an underscore;
  (c) do not import in your packages/ do not use them in your
  reports/ analysis
