Error description

  • Some of the z/OS JCL commands fail to successfully convert the
    mnemonic used to represent the space (blank) character from the
    following versions of the product:
    WMB v8.0.0.6, IIB v9.0.0.4 and IIB v10.

    For example, the following mqsicreateconfigurableservice command
    is submitted to create a Security Profile with an LDAP value
    that
    contains a space. In the command, we specify the mnemonic to
    represent a
    space ( ) and this is not correctly converted at later
    fixpack
    levels, as shown in the output from the mqsireportproperties
    command:

    mqsicreateconfigurableservice -
      MQ01BRK -
     -c SecurityProfiles -o My_Profile -
     -n authentication,authenticationConfig -
     -v LDAP,ldap://9.20.123.45:678/o=The Value

    mqsireportproperties -
      MQ01BRK -
      -c SecurityProfiles -
      -o My_Profile -r

    v8.0.0.5 :

    SecurityProfiles
      My_Profile
        authentication='LDAP'
        authenticationConfig='ldap://9.20.123.45:678/o=The Value'

    v8.0.0.6:

    SecurityProfiles
      My_Profile
        authentication='LDAP'

    authenticationConfig='ldap://9.20.123.45:678/o=The Value'

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    All users of WebSphere Message Broker and IBM Integration Bus on
    z/OS using a mnemonic to represent a special character in values
    passed to the mqsicreateconfigurableservice and
    mqsichangeproperties commands.

    Platforms affected:
    z/OS

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    Submitting the mqsicreateconfigurableservice command, for
    example, that specifies a value that uses a mnemonic to
    represent a special character, e.g., a space ( ) , results
    in the mnemonic not being correctly converted.

    There are a number of resource name changes between WebSphere
    Message Broker and IBM Integration Bus Version 9.0. For details

Problem conclusion

  • The product has been modified so that mnemonics used to
    represent special characters in values passed to the commands
    are correctly converted.
