PI55640: PROBLEMS SOLVING TWSZ MANDATORY PENDING PREDECESSOR

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Many applications defined as Mandatory Predecessor in TWS AD
  Database are properly added to CP but many others are not added
  so the successor cannot start.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Mandatory pending predecssors are not   *
  *                      always solved even if you see in the    *
  *                      Controller MLOG the message:            *
  *                      EQQM296I MANDATORY PENDING PREDECESSOR  *
  *                               SOLVED                         *
  *                      The result is that the successor        *
  *                      cannot start.                           *
  *                      This occurs every time that the MT0     *
  *                      adding the predecessor occurrence       *
  *                      contains more MTD of type add oper      *
  *                      related to the operation solving the    *
  *                      dependency.                             *
  *                      This type of MT0 is created for         *
  *                      example when BCIT is used to add the    *
  *                      predecessor occurrence and the          *
  *                      predecessor operation is time           *
  *                      dependent.                              *

  * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY THE PTF FIXING THIS APAR               *
  ****************************************************************
  Mandatory pending precedessors are not always solved
  when adding occurrence to the current plan.
  As a consequence successors cannot start.
  

Problem conclusion

• Problem was fixed by handling correctly the
  multiple MTD of type add oper when checking
  how to solve mandatory pending dependencies.
