Error description
When deleting an IBM MQ MFT agent on z/OS using the fteDeleteAgent command, the agent is still displayed in the Managed File Transfer section of the IBM MQ Explorer after the delete has succeeded. The agent is only removed from the display once the IBM MQ Explorer is restarted.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: This issue affects users of IBM MQ for z/OS V8 Managed File Transfer component who run the fteDeleteAgent command and use the MQ Explorer to view the status of the agent. Platforms affected: z/OS **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When the fteDeleteAgent command is run, the agent constructs an XML message encoded using UTF-8 indicating that the agent has been deleted. This message is published to the SYSTEM.FTE topic on the coordination queue manager. The MQ Explorer Managed File Transfer plugin subscribes to this topic, and so will eventually receive this message. When it does so, it will remove the agent from the list of agents that it displays. If the agent was running on z/OS, the part of the XML message containing the agent's configuration information was corrupted. As a result, the MQ Explorer could not process the status message which indicated that the agent had been deleted, and so the agent was not removed from the list of agents shown by the MQ Explorer.
Problem conclusion
The IBM MQ Managed File Transfer code has been updated to ensure that the agent's configuration information in the XML message generated by the fteDeleteAgent command is encoded correctly and is not corrupt. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: Version Maintenance Level v8.0 8.0.0.5 The latest available FTE maintenance can be obtained from 'Fix List for WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition 7.0' http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27015313 The latest available MQ maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
