Customers may be running the latest Plugin binary against an
older WebSphere Application Server backend. For example,
IBM HTTP Server/Plugin V8.5.5 to WebSphere Application Server
V7.0. As updates are made to plugin binary, the older
WebSphere Application Server plugin generation is unable to
create an XML that contains a required property.

Problem conclusion

  • The application centric plugin generation has been updated to
allow customers to specify custom properties that will be
recognized by the plugin generation. These new properties
require a recognizable prefix key that the generation will
strip off prior to applying to the XML.

The new properties need to be set at either the
Webservers > [webserver name] > plugin properties > custom
properties page using the prefix of "PLG.Config.", or
Applicaion Servers > [server name] > "Administration" >
Custom Properties page using the prefix of "PLG.Cluster." or
    "PLG.Server.".

NOTE 1: All servers within a cluster need to have the
    properties specified.

NOTE 2: Make sure spelling and casing of the property are
correct. If it is wrong, the plugin binary will not recognize
the new property from the XML.

NOTE 3: You can not use a name of an existing property that
the current Plugin generation will already include like
"ChunkedResponse". Plugin generation already produces a
    property with this name.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 7.0.0.41, 8.0.0.13 and 8.5.5.10. Please refer to
