PI50928: ABENDS0C4 IN DSNIOST2 OFFSET1277C AFTER PTF UI21748 IF NO REBIND

Error description

• An abend occurred with the following title:
  DSN  ABND 0C4 00000038 U=xxxxxxxx M=N  C=101.DMC
  -DSNIST2O M=DSNTFRCV LOC=DSNIDM   DSNIOST2 +277C
                                                                 .
  ( Note that the offset is really = x'1277C' and NOT OFFSET277C )
                                                                 .
  This occurred after applying the fix for apar PM89966 .
  After PM89966, it is necessary to rebind packages dependent on
  on indexes with UNIQUE WHERE NOT NULL and INCLUDE column.
                                                                 .
  PM89966 ptfs are UI21748 (v10) and UI21749 (v11).
  

Local fix

• REBIND packages which depend on indexes with UNIQUE WHERE NOT
  NULL and INCLUDE column.
  

Problem summary

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the corrective PTF when it is          *
  *                 available and follow the ++HOLD              *
  *                 requirement to rebind applications           *
  *                 that access UNIQUE WHERE NOT NULL            *
  *                 indexes with at least one INCLUDE column.    *

  After applying APAR PM89966 (UI21748, UI21749) an
  ABEND0C4 RC00000038 in DSNIOST2 OFFSET1277C may occur while
  a static application accesses a UNIQUE WHERE NOT NULL index
  with at least one INCLUDE column.
  
  A rebind of the application(s) is required for the index access
  to work correctly.
  

Problem conclusion

• This APAR corrects the missing ++HOLD in
  PM89966 (UI21748, UI21749) by documenting the need for the
  rebind of all applications that access UNIQUE WHERE NOT NULL
  indexes with at least one INCLUDE column.
  
  Please reference the ++HOLD information.
