PI49899: WHEN VIEWING A IAM/ESDS FILE USING FILE MANAGER OPTION 1, RECEIVE MESSAGE 'INSUFFICIENT VIRTUAL STORAGE AVAILABLE'

Error description

• When viewing a large IAM/ESDS file with File Manager option 1,
  receive the following message -
  
  Insufficient virtual storage available
  
  although able to successfully view the file.
  
  Receipt of message - FMNBA009 Insufficient virtual storage
  available, is misleading in this case.

Problem summary

  *                      an IAM file for edit, even though       *

  *                      shortage.                               *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
  ****************************************************************
  File Manager was incorrectly estimating the size of the IAM file
  being edited and encounters storage problems loading records in
  memory. File Manager recovers and performs an Auxiliary edit of
  the IAM file but MSGFMNBA009 'Insufficient Virtual Storage' is
  still displayed.
  

Problem conclusion

• File Manager has been updated in order not to issue FMNBA009
  in a recoverable scenario as described.
