APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Encountering an error (reason code 102) when trying to use the
FMAP command against a VARCHAR column, and using their copybook
definition against their data.

Local fix

  • Compile the copybook into a template using FM base option 7.1
(Template Workbench), then use the template dataset name
instead of the COBOL copybook.

*                      with MSGFMNBE052 indicating the         *
*                      template is corrupt.                    *

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *

File Manager is only accepting templates for the FMAP command.
This is incorrect as it should support both copybooks and
templates.

Problem conclusion

  • File Manager has been modified to correct the problem.
