Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All users of DB2 11 for z/OS who use         *
  *                 query acceleration.                          *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A restriction is being removed that     *
  *                      prevented some SQL from being eligible  *
  *                      for SQL acceleration offload.           *
  *                      A reference in the SQL to most of the   *
  *                      DB2 special registers was a condition   *
  *                      that would disqualify the SQL for       *
  *                      acceleration.                           *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  Logic is added in both DB2 and in the accelerator code to handle
  references in the SQL statement to nearly all of the DB2 special
  registers.  This functionality requires that the support level
  is present in both DB2 and the accelerator code.  For DB2,
  it is this APAR, PI42161.  For IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator,
  Version 4, PTF 6 or later, is required.  Special register
  references that are still not supported after these changes
  include CURRENT SERVER, CURRENT PACKAGESET, and
  CURRENT APPLICATION ENCODING.  Also, any special registers that
  were introduced in DB2 11 are not yet supported.  Support for
  those DB2 11 registers might be added in the future.
  
  Any static SQL statements that were previously bound and were
  disqualified from acceleration offloading because of the
  presence of unsupported Special Registers will need to be
  rebound after the application of this APAR and the corresponding
  accelerator support level.
