PI38007: ABENDS 5C6-00F20042 AND 5C6-00F20046 WHEN RUNNING IN QSG AND A CF FAILURE CONDITION OCCURS.

Error description

• The customer performed a 'CF failure' scenario. Their
  environment is running z/OS 2.1 with a 6-way QSG all running
  WebSphere MQ for z/OS V8.0. They received two abends:

  CSQ2QCP0,M=CSQGFRCV,LOC=CSQ2IEPL.CSQ2QCP0+0000453C
  .
  00F20046 - CSQ2QCP1 got an MQCLOSE error
  00F20042 - CSQ2QCP0 got an MQCLOSE error
  .
  The Change Team reviewed the two dumps for this problem. The
  5C6-00F20042 and 5C6-00F20046 abends are occurring when
  MQRC_OUTCOME_PENDING is returned by the MQCMITs due to the
  structure being failed. It looks as though CSQ2QCP0 and CSQ2QCP1
  need to be changed to handle this return code.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When using the IMS bridge, abend        *
  *                      5C6-00F20042 or 5C6-00F20046 are        *
  *                      produced if connectivity is lost to the *
  *                      CF structure hosting a shared queue     *
  *                      used by the IMS bridge (either request  *
  *                      or reply), when the IMS bridge          *
  *                      processing attempts a MQCMIT.           *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  When the IMS bridge is processing a message on a shared IMS
  bridge queue, or putting a message to a reply queue it will
  attempt to perform a MQCMIT for the unit of work. If in the case
  where the queue being used is hosted on a CF, that connectivity
  to has been lost, the MQCMIT will return MQRC_OUTCOME_PENDING,
  which should be considered a valid return code, and that the
  commit has been successfully issued. However, in this case, the
  IMS bridge processing does not expect this return code,
  resulting in abends 5C6-00F20042 (CSQ2_QCP0_CLOSE_ERROR) and
  5C6-00F20046 (CSQ2_QCP1_CLOSE_ERROR) by CSQ2QCP0 and CSQ2QCP1
  respectively. Message CSQ2004E is also produced, indicating the
  MQCMITs have failed with MQRC 2124 (MQRC_OUTCOME_PENDING).
  

Problem conclusion

• Processing by the IMS bridge has been updated, to correctly
  handle the MQRC 2124, MQRC_OUTCOME_PENDING, return code from
  MQCMITs in the case of loss of CF connectivity, without an
  abend.
