Error description

  • There is no NCSA directive that returns the elapsed time from
    receiving the request to sending the first set of bytes of the
    response.

    Without diagnostic tracing, it is difficult to isolate whether
    the delay is being caused by a customer network/client issue or
    during the handling the request by the server, since the %D
    directive is the elapsed time of the entire request and
    response
    exchange.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The HTTP Channel NCSA access log was modified to include a
    directive  that represents the service time of the request,
    from the moment the request is received until the first set of
    bytes of the response are sent - millisecond accuracy,
    microsecond precision.
    
    To include the request service time in the NCSA access data
    log, set the HTTP Channel custom property 'accessLogFormat'
    with the value of %{R}W.
