    ****************************************************************
During an application edition atomic rollout, if the process
times out, both the current and the new edition could be
    rendered inactive.

Problem conclusion

  • If application edition atomic rollout times out, the timeout
    will be handled as follows:

    1. If the rollout fails (or times out) during first batch,
the application will be reverted to original edition.

    2. If the rollout fails (or times out) during second batch
(implying the first batch rollout was successful), the
server(s) configuration will be updated to reflect the new
    edition as the current edition.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 8.5.5.6. Please refer to the Recommended Updates
