PI29949: WORKFILE TABLE SPACE WITH SECQTY 0 GROWS NEW SUBSEQUENT PIECES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A work file table space , which was a linear page set with
  secqty = 0 , zero, grew new subsequent pieces.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: For DB2-managed non-PBG workfile        *
  *                      table space, if PRIQTY is > 2G          *
  *                      and SECQTY = 0, the table space would   *
  *                      grow into multiple pieces.              *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  For DB2-managed non-PBG workfile table spaces, having the
  definition of SECQTY = 0 should govern that no additional
  piece be created.
  

Problem conclusion

• DB2 code is changed to not create additional pieces for non-PBG
  workfile pagesets with SECQTY of 0.
