Problem summary

    When using the clearClassCache.bat/.sh utility to clear the
    WebSphere Application Server Java shared class cache, the
    utility runs silently and does not report the result of the
    operation.
    

Problem conclusion

  • APAR PI28774 modifies the clearClassCache.bat/.sh utility to
    log its result to file
    "<was_home>/logs/clearClassCache/<timestamp>.log".  Removing
    the log file will not affect the Application Server.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 8.5.5.8.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
    page for delivery information:
