Error description

  • When using the ability to set the size of an MQ channel's
    TCP/IP send/recv buffers via the PTF associated with PM71966, if
    the system has been configured to use a larger default buffer
    size than the one requested by MQ, the effective buffer size may
    be reduced.

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Following the application of PTF UK91755 for APAR PM71966,
    customers are able to enable function that increases the size of
    the TCP/IP send and receive buffers for MQ channels.

    However, if the system-wide default size for the send or receive
    buffers is set higher than the initial value established by MQ,
    the effective buffer sizes will be reduced.

Problem conclusion

  • Processing has been amended to ensure that MQ checks the current
    size of the send or receive buffers and will not reduce the
    buffer sizes below those defined by the TCP/IP system
    administrator.
