    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a HFS file is transferred *
    * in block mode and ebcdic type, *
    * the buffer ends up with a *
    * negative length causing an *
    * overlay of CSM beyond the buffer *
    *                      causing an 0C4 abend.                   *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply PTF.                                   *
    ****************************************************************
    FTP incorrectly calculates maximum record size when it
    reading a file in the z/OS Unix file system. If the last
    record read from the file is one more than the number of
    bytes left in the buffer, FTP can overlay the buffer.

Problem conclusion

  • EZAFTPMF has been updated to get the maximum record size
    accurately when the file is in z/OS Unix file system.
