PI23947: ERROR WHEN EXPORTING TO EXCEL FROM TM1 APPLICATIONS AFTER HAVING MODIFIED A CUBE VIEW IN THE APPLICATION

Error description

  • Customer changes a cube view configuration in TM1 Applications
    (i.e. swap row/column or swap title dimension for row or column,
    change the subset being used in one of the dims, etc.) logs out,
    then after logging back in, doing an export to Excel (snapshot
    or slice) they get the following

    could not be found.  Check the spelling of the file name, and
    verify that the file location is correct.?If you are trying to
    open the file from your list of most recently used files, make
    sure that the file has not been renamed, moved, or
    deleted.??This appears to be due to the fact that modifying the
    view creates a private view (that can be seen in the cube in
    Architect) and this private view name is too long to render
    correctly.
    

Local fix

  • Rather than modifying the view in TM1 Application Web, create th
    e same new view and add it to the application, and then don't mo
    dify it within TM1 Application Web.
    
    Alternatively, for a quick fix to be able to move forward and do
     the export, go to Reset View > Reset Current View to reset back
     to the original view in the application.  This should clear the
     private view that is the problem.  You should then be able to m
    odify the view again, as desired, and export it successfully.  T
    he problem would not recur until you log out of Application web,
     as that is when the private view gets saved.
