    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The no-cache attribute of the *
    *                      Cache-Control header is not properly    *
    *                      quoted                                  *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When the HTTP Channel has to automatically add the no-cache
    attribute to the response message's Cache-Control header, the
    value of the attribute will not be properly quoted. For
    example, if this header is supplied on the response:
    Cache-Control: public, max-age=604800
    The HTTP Channel will incorrectly add the unquoted no-cache
    attribute like this:
    Cache-Control: public, max-age=604800, no-cache=set-cookie
    When it should look like this:
    Cache-Control: public, max-age=604800, no-cache="set-cookie"

Problem conclusion

  • The HTTP Channel will now properly quote the no-cache
    attribute if it has to add it automatically to the
    Cache-Control header.

    A new custom property was added to the HTTP Channel to enable
    this new behavior. The property name is:
    "QuoteAddedNoCacheValue" with a possible value of "true" or
    "false", with the default being "false"

    An HTTP Channel custom property can be set like this:

    om.html?cp=SSAW57_8.0.0%2F3-16-5-416&lang=en

    Please note: the instructions are for v8.0, but the same
    instructions apply to all versions of WebSphere Application
    Server Full Profile

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 7.0.0.35, 8.0.0.10, 8.5.5.4. Please refer to the
