PI14444: UNEXPECTED RESULTS WHEN ENTERING PF11 FROM FM PANEL 'NON-VSAM ENTRY DETAIL' AND INCOMPLETE DATASET INFORMATION IS DISPLAYED.

APAR status

Error description

• When the Info line command is entered for a migrated VSAM
  dataset using FM option 3.4, the resulting 'Non-VSAM Entry
  Detail' panel allows for the user to press PF11 to obtain
  additional information on extents. Pressing PF11 results in a
  hung TSO session, and the following messages are found in the
  syslog:
  
  IEF244I USER1 ISPF ISPFPROC - UNABLE TO ALLOCATE 1 UNIT(S) 146
          AT LEAST 1 OFFLINE UNIT(S) NEEDED.
  IEF877E USER1 NEEDS 1 UNIT(S) 147
  
  Also, the resulting information displayed in the 'Non-VSAM Entry
  Detail' panel is incomplete for the migrated VSAM dataset.

  File Manager should not display the Entry Details panel for
  the LIST or INFO prefix commands for a migrated data set.
  Similarly, the ALTER, RENAME and EXTENTS prefix commands should
  not display the Entry Details panel for a migrated data set.
  

Problem conclusion

• 1. File Manager has been modified to inhibit the display of the
  Entry Details panel for a migrated data set for the
  following prefix commands on the Data Set List panel:
  INFO, LIST, RENAME, ALTER and EXTENTS
  Also the I command for a single data set specified on the
  Catalog Services panel (3.4) will no longer display the
  Entry Details panel.
  The following message will be produced:
  The command is not able to be used for a migrated data set.
  Please RECALL the data set and reissue the command if required.
  
  Note that this message will also be produced if the MEMBER or
  AFPB commands are issued against a migrated data set.
  
  2. Additional changes:
  Samples FMNSAMF2 and FMNSAMP1 have had minor modifications.
