Error description

  • You are using the Command Flow Feature of CICS IA to analyze a
long running task. You know the task issues multiple
SYNCPOINTS, and were expecting the captured data to have
multiple UOW_IDs associated with it, with a new UOW_ID assigned
to entries after each SYNCPOINT. However, you only see one
    UOW_ID for the entire task.
If you run a SELECT against the CIU_CMDFLOW_DATA table and it
shows multiple SYNCPOINTS all with the same CICS_UOW value. The
CICS_UOW value should change after each SYNCPOINT that is
    issued.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The CICS IA Command Flow Data collector *
    * does not detect the changing of task *
    * UOW. So all collected records of the *
    * specific task have the same UOW. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
Changing of task UOW occurs when EXEC CICS SYNCPOINT commands
are issued. A syncpoint arises explicitly and implicitly. The
CICS IA Command Flow Data collector currently considers all CICS
command of the specific task as running within the scope of one
    UOW initiated at start transaction.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been changed to provide detecting of the UOW changing.
