• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When running FM/IMS batch function LOAD (ILB), with LOADTYPE=2,
  receive message:
  
   FMNIB425 Segment update error - for details, see the last entry
   in the Database Load Diagnostic Report.
  
  
  Database Load Diagnostic Report includes message -
  Insert failed with status code II and attempt to replace
  existing segment failed - status code DA.

  * USERS AFFECTED: All users of the FM/IMS Load (ILB) function. *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Load with LOADTYPE=2 issues message     *
  *                      'Update failed - status code DA' or     *
  *                      'Insert failed with status code II and  *
  *                      attempt to replace existing segment     *
  *                      failed - status code DA' and terminates *
  *                      after attempting to replace a logical   *
  *                      child segment.                          *
  *                      The problem occurs when all of the      *
  *                      following conditions are true:          *
  *                      - the logical child segment             *
  *                      participates in a bidirectional logical *
  *                      relationship                            *
  *                      - if the logical child segment has a    *
  *                      key field, its length does not exceed   *
  *                      the length of the LPCK for this segment *
  *                      - the logical child segment it is       *
  *                      paired with has a key field             *
  *                      - the length of the key field of the    *
  *                      logical child segment it is paired with *
  *                      exceeds the length of the LPCK for that *
  *                      segment                                 *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *

  The problem occurs because the Load attempts to replace the
  wrong segment occurrence.
  

Problem conclusion

• FM/IMS has been modified to correct this problem.
