    When the foreign endpoints are
    misconfigured, then the catalog service
domains are not linked. You might see following Object Request
Broker (ORB) or IBM eXtremeIO (XIO) message:
    ORB example:
    Could not bind to
    corbaloc:iiop:cat1:hostname1:7701:7711/Objec
    tGridLocationService
    org.omg.CORBA.BAD_PARAM: bad host
    'cat1:hostname1:7701' vmcid: OMG minor
    code: 9 completed: No
    XIO example:
    com.ibm.websphere.objectgrid.ObjectGridRunti
    meException:
    java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input
    string: "hostname1:7701:7711"

Problem conclusion

  • Verify that the foreign domain endpoints are properly
formated. They should be a comma-separated list of the
hostname and listener or bootstrap port for the catalog
servers in the foreign domain. For example:
host1:2809,host2:2810. The interim fix includes a better error
    message.
