Error description
Container servers that contain catalog service endpoints from different domains are allowed to start.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere eXtreme Scale users with * * multiple catalog service domains. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Container servers might start with * * catalog service endpoints that are not * * configured correctly. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Container servers that contain catalog service endpoints from different catalog service domains are allowed to start. These container servers encounter run-time errors during shard placement. A container server can only belong to one catalog service domain. An example of a run-time error message follows. This message is in the container server Java virtual machine (JVM) or SystemOut log. ObjectGridCon E CWOBJ1209E: Unable to activate shard for ObjectGrid myGrid, domain DomainA, map set myMapSet, partition 0, shard type primary (myGrid:myMapSet:0) due to exception: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Received shard activation request for a shard from domain, DomainB but this container, Cell02\Node01\server1_C-1, is in domain domainA at com.ibm.ws.objectgrid.container.ObjectGridContainerImpl.activate (ObjectGridContainerImpl.java:1008) at com.ibm.ws.objectgrid.container.ObjectGridContainerImpl.doContai nerWork(ObjectGridContainerImpl.java:776) at com.ibm.ws.objectgrid.container.ObjectGridContainerImpl.access$1 00(ObjectGridContainerImpl.java:144) at com.ibm.ws.objectgrid.container.ObjectGridContainerImpl$2.run(Ob jectGridContainerImpl.java:674) at com.ibm.ws.objectgrid.util.security.SecurityContextRunnable$2.ru n(SecurityContextRunnable.java:111) at com.ibm.ws.security.auth.ContextManagerImpl.runAs(ContextManager Impl.java:5468) at com.ibm.ws.security.auth.ContextManagerImpl.runAsSystem(ContextM anagerImpl.java:5594) at com.ibm.ws.objectgrid.util.security.SecurityContextRunnable.runW ithServerContext(SecurityContextRunnable.java:109) at com.ibm.ws.objectgrid.util.security.SecurityContextRunnable.run( SecurityContextRunnable.java:68) at com.ibm.ws.util.ThreadPool$Worker.run(ThreadPool.java:1700)
Problem conclusion
Change the container server catalog service endpoints to point to one catalog service domain only. After you apply the interim fix, servers that are not configured correctly fail do not start and a specific error message is returned.
Temporary fix
