PI06178: Attachment temporary files can be left in tmpdir in Rational Change

Error description

• Attempts to download an attachment to a CR can leave a temporary
  file in the installation tmpdir in IBM Rational Synergy.
  
  When you download an attachment to a CR a temporary file is
  created in
  ?CS_INSTALL?\jetty\webapps\change\WEB-INF\wsconfig\tmpdir on the
  server. This file should be removed but this is not always done.
  The location of this folder cannot be changed. Therefore the
  contents of the folder tmpdir need to be managed separately.
  
  Reproducing the problem:
  1) Open CR
  2) Click [Download] link for attachment to open 'Attachment
  Properties' dialog.
  3) Click [Download]
  4) A file names ATTACHMENT_?number?.?number? is creates in
  tmpdir
  5) A 'File Download' dialog opens in Windows
  6) Click [Cancel] to go back to 'attachment Properties' dialog.
  7) Click [Close]
  8) The file ATTACHMENT_?number?.?number? is left in tmpdir.
  
  WORKAROUND:
  You must manually remove all files named ATTACHMENT_*.* while
  the Rational Change server is stopped.

Problem conclusion

• There is always a way to cleanup the old file by writing a
  script which deletes the file from the tmpdir and this
  script can be scheduled. This is a candidate of a RFE rather
  than a defect.
