PI05761: WEB.XML GENERATED FROM ECLIPSE PLUGIN IS SERVLET 3.0 SPEC CAUSING DEPLOYMENT ISSUES ON WAS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Worklight eclipse plugin auto generates WAR file. web.xml
  Within WAR
  has namespace which is servlet 3.0 compliant
  
  The above fails to deploy on WAS 8.0 server.
  Once we modify web.xml manually to 2.4 it deploys correctly.
  

Local fix

• web.xml need to be manually modified to 2.4 compliant so it
  deploys correctly.

Problem conclusion

• The servlet schema version has been changed from version 3.0 to
  version 2.4.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for fixpack 6.0.0.2.
