PI05436: ALTER TABLE ROTATE PARTITION SHOULD BE PROHIBITED WHEN PARTITION IS IN PRO (PERSISTENT READ ONLY) STATUS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• ALTER TABLE ROTATE PARTITION should receive SQLCODE -904
  RC00C90635 when the partition to be rotated is in PRO
  (Persistent Read Only) status, instead the ALTER is
  (incorrectly) allowed.  This problem can occur if multiple ALTER
  TABLE ROTATEs have been executed.

Problem conclusion

• DB2 code has been changed to return SQLCODE -904 when ALTER
  TABLE ROTATE PARTITION is done on a partition in PRO status.
