APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The command-line interface call: "xscmd -c teardown -hf host.dom
    
    However, only the containers are returned.
    

Local fix

  • Use other xscmd filter options to apply the commands as needed.
    

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED:  Administrators of IBM WebSphere eXtreme     *
    *                  Scale Version 8.5 and 8.6 who used the      *
    *                  xscmd command-line interface.               *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: xscmd -c teardown -hf <host> does not   *
    *                      list catalog servers in its list of     *
    *                      servers to teardown.                    *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:  Install an interim fix containing this      *
    *                  APAR.                                       *
    *                  Note: A new option (only applicable for the *
    *                  teardown command) "-ics" is required to     *
    *                  return catalog servers in the list          *
    *                  (regardless of using the -hf option).       *
    *                  The command would appear like the           *
    *                  following:                                  *
    *                  (./)xscmd(.sh | .bat) -c teardown -ics -hf  *
    *                  host.domain.com                             *
    ****************************************************************
    The xscmd command-line tool was not properly querying the
    runtime
    environment for any running catalog servers within the
    applicable
    domain.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The xscmd command-line tool was corrected to properly query the
    running eXtreme Scale environment for running catalog servers.
    
    This APAR is included in interim fixes for version 8.5.0.1,
    8.5.0.3, and 8.6.0.4.
