APAR status

Error description

  • In Dependency Base Build (DBB) version 2.0.1, using
JobExec.saveOutput(ddname, output, sourceEncoding,
targetEncoding) API, if the targetEncoding does not exist or is
unknown, no error is reported and an empty output file is
created.


Here is an example when the target encoding is unknown:

jobExec.saveOutput("SYSUT2", new
File("/u/user/dbb/testJobExecOutput.txt"), "IBM-1047", "abcd")

Local fix

  • Verify and use the correct target encoding in the API after
running the "iconv -i" (without quotes) command on the target
system.
