Error description

  • When using File Manager/Db2 to view/edit a remote Db2 table with
    a CLOB column, the following message is received:
    SQLCODE = -398, ERROR:  A Locator was requested for host
    variable number 1 but the variable is not a LOB.

    FM/Db2 when initializing the LOB locator field for a remote Db2
    table is using a method that causes SQL errors when processing
    a remote Db2 table
    

Problem conclusion

  • FM/Db2 was modified to use the Db2 Scalar functions BLOB, CLOB
    and DBCLOB to initialize the LOB locator fields.
