Error description

  • After upgrading MQ from v9.0 to v9.2 on z/OS, you encounter the
following error when running the the CSQ5PQSG utility with the
    VERIFY QSG option:

CSQU568E QMGR number mismatch for QMGR CSQ1: DB2 value=10, XCF
    member value=10, CSQ_ADMIN connection value=1

The queue manager starts successfully, and you are able to
    define new shared queues.

The mismatch reported by message CSQU568E is due to a code
defect in the VERIFY QSG function of CSQ5PQSG. Changes made to
this function as part of V920 LTS result in the calculation of
the admin structure connection ID being incorrect for some ID
values. The affected values are those, which when written in
binary, contain a hex digit between x'A' and x'F'. This
includes ID values between 10-15, 26-31, 42-47 (decimal) and so
on, and also all ID values above 160 (=x'A0').

Local fix

  • Try using CSQ5PQSG from an earlier version of MQ.

    ****************************************************************
A calculation of the admin structure connection ID resulted in
    the connection ID being incorrect.

The code that calculates this value incorrectly returned the
pre-calculation value when verifying the number of queue
managers in a Queue Sharing Group.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been changed and the correct value is now returned.
