Error description

  • When attempting to change Db2 null fields using FM/DB2 change
command C '', null fields are not changed.  For example, change
command:
C '' 'A' #5

will not change a null in column 5 to a value of A.

Local fix

  • Use 2'' to indicate a Db2 null in a change command.  For
example:
C 2'' 'A' #5
will change a Db2 null in column 5 to a value of A.

Incorrect processing of the Change command in FM/Db2 edit.

Problem conclusion

  • File Manager has been changed so that when a change with a null
from string c '' 'ccc' is issued the to string will be inserted
into all applicable columns including columns that contain a
null value.
Note. This behavior is different to the change command
where the from string is a Db2 null value 2'' where only columns
containing the value null are changed
