Error description

  • Client is seeing an error when reading the BSDS which changes
    them to single mode instead of dual. Client goes through the
    process to restore the BSDS, copies the old BSDS01, creates a
    new BSDS01 and does the RECOVER BSDS command but that fails
    with a CSQ9023E 'RECOVER BSDS' ABNORMAL
    COMPLETION error.

    *                      the underlying problem.                 *
    ****************************************************************
    During calls to the VSAM PUT and GET routines to access the
    BSDS, messages CSQJ107E and CSQJ108E were issued. These provides
    a two-byte "Error Status" insert, but this is insufficient
    information to further diagnose the underlying VSAM problem.

Problem conclusion

  • Processing has been amended to allow a diagnostic dump to be
    taken when a VSAM error occurs and messages CSQJ107E and
    CSQJ108E are issued.
