  *                 ACBs is enabled.                             *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: These problems may occur when an FM/IMS *
  *                      function uses a dynamic PSB to access   *
  *                      a database and IMS manages the ACBs.    *
  *                      1. IMS Catalog API (DFS3CATQ) subtask   *
  *                      terminates abnormally with abendU1002   *
  *                      X'18'.                                  *
  *                      2. FM/IMS function terminates           *
  *                      abnormally with a S0C4 abend            *
  *                      immediately after the IMS Catalog API   *
  *                      (DFS3CATQ) subtask terminates           *
  *                      abnormally.                             *
  *                      3. IMS does not back out the changes    *
  *                      the IMS Catalog Populate utility        *
  *                      (DFS3PU00) subtask makes to the IMS     *
  *                      catalog database when the subtask       *
  *                      terminates abnormally and the FM/IMS    *
  *                      function is run in DLI mode.            *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF                       *

  1. The IMS catalog API subtask terminates abnormally because an
  attempt to dynamically allocate the IMS directory data sets
  fails. The attempt fails because the data sets are already
  allocated. An IMS Catalog Populate utility subtask - which runs
  and terminates before the API subtask starts - allocates them.
  It should also free them.
  2. The abendS0C4 occurs in CSECT FMN1DIR at offset X'1388'.
  3. The IMS Catalog Populate utility run with BKO set to N.
  

Problem conclusion

• FM/IMS has been modified to correct these problems.
