Error description

  • IMPORT of a CCM-format export file created by CICS CM v5.4 fails
RC=12 RSN=0035 (Service routine failure) if the file contains
    packaged commands.

A CCM-format export file is created using CICS CM v5.4.
IMPORT of the file fails when:
          - IMPORT is performed by a CICS CM v5.4 Server with
APAR PH09609 (PTF UI62818) applied; and
          - The export file was created by a CICS CM v5.4
Server without APAR PH09609 (PTF UI62818) applied; and
          - The export file contains CMDASSOC records (change
            package commands).

    The IMPORT failure appears as:
           1. ISPF shows ...... CCVE177 Service failure
           2. XML shows ....... RC=12 RSN=0035 (Service routine
              error)
           3. CCVLOG shows .... CCV5210E Severe error for Command
              IMPORT. Processing terminated.

Similarly, attempts to view the export file (LIST API command)
    fail.

    The LIST failure appears as:
            1. ISPF shows ...... CCVE184 Integrity error
            2. XML shows ....... RC=12 RSN=0007 (Integrity Check
               failed)
            3. CCVLOG shows .... CCV5210E Severe error for
               Command LIST. Processing terminated.

A CCM-format export file is created using CICS CM v5.4.
IMPORT of the file fails when:

          - The export file contains CMDASSOC records (change
            package commands).

    The IMPORT failure appears as:

        1. ISPF shows ...... CCVE177 Service failure
        2. XML shows ....... RC=12 RSN=0035 (Service routine error)
        3. CCVLOG shows .... CCV5210E Severe error for Command

Similarly, attempts to view the export file (LIST API command)
fail. The LIST failure appears as:

        1. ISPF shows ...... CCVE184 Integrity error
        2. XML shows ....... RC=12 RSN=0007 (Integrity Check failed)
        3. CCVLOG shows .... CCV5210E Severe error for Command LIST.
                               Processing terminated.

The problems arise because changes introduced for CICS CM v5.4
APAR PH09609 (PTF UI62818) affected the CMDASSOC (change package
commands) calculated CRC value on the CCM-format export file.

Problem conclusion

  • UI62818
CICS Configuration Manager is corrected. Program CCVSIMP is
corrected to tolerate the differences in the CRC calculation.

Note: A similar fix (APAR PH12278, PTF UI63404) enables CICS CM
v5.3 to accept export files produced by CICS CM v5.4 at
           any APAR level.
