APAR status

Error description

  • The CHIN abends with 5C6-00E7014F LOC=CSQXADPM.CSQXADPM
when an MQPUT is attempted in client mode where the MQMD used in
the MQPUT has an invalid CCSID (offset 0x1C) set to 0x2EE8
(12008 in decimal).

Local fix

  • Set a valid CodedCharSetId in the MQMD.

*                      put to a queue, the MQPUT will fail     *
*                      with reason code 2195                   *
*                      (MQRC_UNEXPECTED_ERROR). If the message *
*                      is put over a client connection, a      *
*                      5C6-00E7014F dump is also taken in the  *
*                      CHIN.                                   *

When the MQPUT fails, the invalid CCSID is not handled
correctly and causes a 2195 (MQRC_UNEXPECTED_ERROR)
reason code to be return to the caller. If the message was
put over a client connection, a dump is also taken in the CHIN.
The 2195 reason code does not give any useful information
about why the put has failed and originates from internal
header checking.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been changed to instead return a suitable reason
code of 2142 (MQRC_HEADER_ERROR) when the MQPUT fails.
Additionally, a dump will no longer be taken in the CHIN.
