APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • During periods when there is no data to replicate, if the Log
Data Cache feature is engaged, the DLR (Log Data Cache Reader)
task continues to check for more log data without waiting for
notification that such a check is warranted. This can cause
excessive calls to the DB2 IFI, using large amounts of CPU
    without benefit.

Local fix

  • Disable the log cache feature

CPU use will be unnecessarily high when no subscriptions are
    running.

  • The Log Data Cache feature Log Reader task will wait for a
subscription to start before requesting log data.
