Error description
Db2mstr V12 address space ECSA storage increase with zparm AUTHEXIT_CACHEREFRESH=ALL with APAR PI94236/PTF UI63855 applied in a sysplex environment and data server driver clients have sysplexWLB or seamlessFailover set to true. If APAR PI94236 is applied BUT there are no data server driver clients with sysplexWLB or seamlessFailover set to TRUE, the storage creep will not occur. In the reported case, the storage increase in the Db2 mstr asid were many small blocks with length x'20' or x'40' that were allocated by DSNTLPLK to save the notify response message. Additional keywords and symptoms: ********************************* DB2DDF DDF STGLEAK CACHEREFRESH DSNTLPLK DSN3AUGC sysplexwlb seamlessfailover Lock Mgr Global Subpool ZSA4
Local fix
Work around is to change AUTHEXIT_CACHEREFRESH=NONE to avoid storage accumulation
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * All Db2 12 Distributed Data Facility (DDF) * * users. Specifically those with Db2 * * subsystem parameter (ZPARM) * * AUTHEXIT_CACHEREFRESH (DSN6SPRM) set to * * ALL after APAR PI94236 (PTF UI63855) * * is applied. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * Gradual increase in allocated storage * * within ECSA by Db2. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * * Apply corrective PTF when available * **************************************************************** Function provided by APAR PI94236 (see APAR description for more information) failed to free ECSA storage that was acquired for notification purposes among members of a group. This condition occurs ONLY if Db2 is configured (DSNZPARM) with DSN6SPRM AUTHEXIT_CACHEREFRESH=ALL. Note: In the reported case, the AUTHEXIT_CACHEREFRESH subsystem parameter was unnecessarily set to ALL.
Problem conclusion
Db2 has been changed to free ECSA storage that was obtained for data sharing group notification purposes.
