Comments

  • This APAR delivers changes to the Db2 install CLIST to
support creating z/OSMF artifacts for provisioning and
deprovisioning a Db2 data sharing group, and for
performing the following actions on any member of the
    provisioned Db2 data sharing group:
    o START Db2
    o STOP Db2
    o DISPLAY DDF
    o DISPLAY GROUP
    o Enable Optional Features:
        o Db2 RESTful Services
        o ODBC
        o JDBC
For more information on this enhancement, please refer to the
    IBM Knowledge Center: https://www.ibm.com/support/
    knowledgecenter/SSEPEK_12.0.0/inst/src/tpc/
    db2z_runclistprovisiondb2.html
Aside from using the CLIST to generate z/OSMF artifacts for
provisioning and deprovisioning a Db2 data sharing group,
you can also use the sample Db2 software service
template which creates services that rapidly provision from
scratch an n-way Db2 data sharing group (cluster), in IBM
Cloud Provisioning and Management for z/OS (CP&M). The
files (z/OSMF artifacts) of this sample software service
template are compressed into the Db2ProvisionSystemDS.pax
file which you find more information about and download
    from: https://github.com/IBM/Db2ZTools/tree/master/DevOps/
    Db2SystemServices/Db2ProvisionSystemDS.
After you have customized the variable input files (dsntivin
and dsntivia), you can use z/OSMF to run a copy of this
template to perform direct provisioning of one or more Db2
data sharing groups without first running the Db2
    installation CLIST.
This APAR also makes major enhancements to the following
    Db2-supplied z/OSMF artifacts:
    o Actions definition file DSNACTON:
A new action display_GROUP is added to execute the Db2
command -DISPLAY GROUP DETAIL on a provisioned Db2
      subsystem.
o Workflow definition files DSNTIWIN and DSNOPTFT:
The following steps which enable the following optional
features on a provisioned Db2 subsystem:
      o Db2 RESTful Services
      o ODBC
      o JDBC
are replaced with a new entity file called DSNOPENT.
o Variable input files DSNTIVIN and DSNTIVIA:
New z/OSMF variables are introduced to support the
      following new features:
o Provisioning of a Db2 data sharing group
      o New action display_GROUP
      o New entity file DSNOPENT
    A previous APAR (PH09857) introduced a sample Db2 software
service template to create services that rapidly provision
from scratch one or multiple standalone Db2 subsystems, in
IBM Cloud Provisioning and Management for z/OS (CP&M). The
files of this sample software service template are compressed
into the Db2ProvisionSystemNonDS.pax file which is installed
by default in the directory specified by the DDDEF created
for SDSNASMP. This pax file is now deprecated and not
expected to be updated for future new function. For best
results, always download the latest pax files from:
    https://github.com/IBM/Db2ZTools/tree/master/DevOps/
    Db2SystemServices/
