Error description

  • MQ z/OS support verified it's for using the CSQOREXX panels to
    display channels:
When "Connect name" is different from "Target queue manager",
the number of "status" (running ,this scenario) is 2 for
channel rather than 1 when "Connect name" is same as "Target
    queue manager".

MQ z/OS dev has confirmed the reported behavior in the LIST
CHANNEL function of the Operations Panels (CSQOREXX), with an
increased number of RUN status reported in the channel list
output when using different target and connect QMGR names. In
this case the '2 RUN' output for the receiver channel is not
expected, when the CHSTATUS output shows only 1 instance
    running.

CSQORLST gets a list of channels, and then issues DISPLAY
CHSTATUS SHORT to get the status of the channels on the action
queue manager. When the action queue manager is remote, only
the private channel status is returned, and a second DISPLAY
command is issued to get the shared status.
An error in the circumstances where the last DISPLAY command is
issued resulted in the same channel status being returned twice,
resulting in a doubling of the status count (e.g. 4 RUN when
only 2 instances of the channel are running).

Problem conclusion

  • The error in determining when to issue the additional DISPLAY
    CHSTATUS command has been corrected.
