    thread pool has been configured with a maximum threads
    setting as follows:
    <executor maxThreads="xx"/>

    The last line in the server log is typically as follows,

    ****************************************************************
    Liberty application startup occurs asynchronously, with each
    application starting on its own thread. The application may
    wait for a dependent bundle repository to be ready. The bundle
    repository requires one thread to initialize. In some cases,
    when the thread pool is constrained to a maximum size, the
    applications may attempt to start and use all of the available
    threads, before the bundle repository is initialized. This
    causes a deadlock.

Problem conclusion

  • Code was added to allow the bundle repository to start before
    OSGi applications attempt to start.
