PH05206: BLANK SCREEN BEFORE LOADING ICON APPEARS WHEN SETTING VALUE PROMPT IN A REPORT VIEW

Error description

  • When a client attempts to set value prompts using the following
    steps:
    Select any report with multiple prompts > "..." > Create a
    report view (saved in "My content")
    Go to the saved report view > Properties > "Report" tab > Check
    "Prompt for values"
    Click "Set values" > Set
    A totally blank screen appears for few seconds before the
    loading icon appears.
    The severity of the latency depends on the number of prompts
    used and the complexity of the report, also with caching (takes
    longer the first time in the browsing session)... in the
    associated case the latency was 17 seconds causing the end users
    to have the impression that Cognos was frozen.
    
    I've attached a deployment for testing (based on GO SALES
    (query)) , issue replicated on R11 and R12... this sample will
    not work on R13 however the latency confirmed existing on other
    sample reports with prompts.
    Issue tested on Chrome, Firefox and IE. Exists in all.
