Error description

  • Private area storage leak in subpool 249 key 2 when
restarting a

Liberty JVM server within a CICS region that has connected
to an

angel

Approximately 10 MB are leaked each time the JVM server is

restarted.

*                      inside a CICS region.                   *

When a Liberty server connects to the angel process, and is
recycled inside a CICS region, approximately 10 megabytes of
below the bar storage is leaked when the Liberty server is
recycled.  This leak repeats each time the Liberty server is
recycled.  Eventually, there will be a storage shortage below
the line, and the JVM will not be able to allocate enough memory
to initialize.

The storage that is leaked is in subpool 249, key 2.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Code was added to free storage used by Liberty in subpool 249
when the Liberty server is recycled.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
pack 18.0.0.4.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
