PH04997: Adding the zosLocalAdapters-1.0 feature to the z/OS Conect EE server configuration causes message CWWKE0701E.

APAR status

• Closed as unreproducible in next release.

Error description

• When the zosLocalAdapters-1.0 feature is configured in the
  server.xml, the following message is written:
  CWWKE0701E: [com.ibm.zosconnect.wola.factory(458)]
              The setResourceFactoryRef method has thrown an
              exception Bundle:com.ibm.zosconnect.wola(id=205)
              java.lang.NullPointerException
   at com.ibm.zosconnect.wola.internal.WolaServiceFactory.
                            setResourceFactoryRef(Unknown Source)
  
  Without the zosLocalAdapters-1.0 feature specified, the z/OS
  Connect EE server starts and the reported message is not issued.

Local fix

• This can be worked around by removing the zosLocalAdapters-1.0
  feature from the server config.

  With the zosLocalAdapters-1.0 feature specified and another
  feature that creates a singleton resource factory (e.g. the
  zosRequestLogging-1.0 feature), z/OS Connect EE attempted to use
  an invalid resource factory reference which resulted in the
  reported NullPointerException.
  

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

• z/OS Connect EE has been changed to correctly handle the
  presence of a singleton resource factory preventing the reported
  CWWKE0701E message and NullPointerException.
  
  The fix for this APAR is expected to be delivered by the PTF for
  z/OS Connect EE V3.0.16.0 (PH05647).
