Error description

  • DEFECT DESCRIPTION: When editing report from Team Content folder
    where ser has Run permissions, user clicks 'Save as' to save
    report to My Content. The report is saved successfully to My
    Conten and can be ran from there. When user clicks 'Save' on the
    same report, the error "You do not have the appropriate
    permission to save the object" appears. This issue was found in
    version 11.0.12 of Cognos Analytics.
    
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 1. Set permissions of a user to 'Run' for
    the Team Content folder.
                                                  2. Log in as the
    user and edit a sample report in the Team Content folder.
                                                  3. Save the report
    to My Content using 'Save as' with a new name
                                                  4. The report
    should save fine and the name of the repirt changes
                                                  5. Click 'Save',
    the error should appear.
                                                  6. Go into My
    Content.
                                                  7. The report you
    just edited and saved should be in the folder. If you try to
    edit the report again, any of the changes you made previously
    will be there.
                                                  8. Try to save the
    report using 'Save' not 'Save as'.
                                                  9. Error message
    still appears even though report is now located in a folder
    where the user has Full permissions.
                                                10. The original
    report should still be in the Team Content.
