APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Customer complained that a large number of
    SYSTEM.MANAGED.NDURABLE.* queues of type
    tempdyn are not deleted even when both the subscription handle,
    and the queue handle are closed.
    The accumulated queues probably resulted in buffer pools to run
    out of storage and MQ Explorer to become unresponsive due to
    the number of queue objects that need to be returned.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a managed MQSUB request fails *
    * following the TDQ being created, *
    *                      the TDQ(s) are not                      *
    *                      deleted.  Performance                   *
    * problems result as a large number of *
    * temporary dynamic queues remain *
    *                      undeleted.                              *
    ****************************************************************
    If the MQSUB request fails after TDQ is created, CSQMCLS2 is
    called to close the TDQ. Because the subscription handle was not
    completely created, it is freed without going through close
    processing and so the link between the sub handle and the queue
    handle (mhnd.lMngHndXref in the sub handle) is not cleared.
    As a result the queue is not deleted.

Problem conclusion

  • Code in CSQMSUBI corrected so any TDQs created during a failed
    MQSUB request will be deleted
