    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message CSQX777E 'channel has been *
    * blocked' because the hostname used for *
    * validation has invalid characters *
    *                      appended.                               *
    ****************************************************************
A client attempts to connect to a queue manager defined with
CHLAUTH and REVDNS enabled. A channel authentication record has
been defined to permit access which uses a hostname to identify
the client rather than an IP address. However the client
connection is rejected with message CSQX777E 'channel has been
    blocked'.
The rejection occurs because additional characters have been
appended to the hostname. This can occur when authorization
processing copies the hostname in to a temporary buffer that
contains residual storage from a previous connection attempt
that used a longer hostname. The current hostname is written
over the previous one for the length of the new hostname only,
leaving residual characters from the previous hostname appended
    to the end.

Problem conclusion

  • Authorization processing has been updated for the reported
problem to initialize the temporary host entry buffer to nulls
before the host entry is copied in to it.
