Error description

  • In Cognos 10, when setting permissions on an object such as
    Public Folders or a folder object inside of it, a Namespace can
    be selected and added to the permissions list to grant it
    particular permissions.  In Cognos 11 when you attempt perform
    the same operation, when you select the namespace and click Add
    an error is thrown: Item has already been added to the profile.
    

Local fix

  • Temporarily enable the old Cognos 10 UI by adding advanced
    system setting "portal.disablecc = false" in the administration
    console, then access http://server:port/bi/v1/disp to use the
    old Cognos 10 UI where the namespace can be added successfully.
