Error description

  • If there is a sender channel defined with
more then one ip addresses in the conname field of a sender
channel and these addresses do not work,
    the channel goes into retry.
Retry counts not being decremented when a channel's CONNAME
contains a comma-separated list of addresses.
This applies to short and long retry counts.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A channel that has multiple connection *
    * names and fails to start will stay in *
    * retry state forever regardless of the *
    * retry properties on the channel. *
    ****************************************************************
A channel that has multiple connection names via the use of a
comma separated list will fail to update its retry count. As a
consequence, after a failed start the subsequent retries will
process as if its the first time it has tried to restart. In
turn this results in the channel never exhausting all it's retry
attempts that are set via the retry properties on the channel
and the channel stays in the retry state until it is manually
    stopped.

Problem conclusion

  • The logic in the code has been corrected so that channels with
multiple connection names will correctly update their retry
count each time they fail to start. Therefore they will now
return to the stopped state once all retry counts set by the
retry properties on the channel have been exhausted.
