Error description

  • DFHIRP causes a System Getvis-31 storage leak in subpool
IXXPDC (XPCC control blocks) whenever EXCI batch jobs are used.

The amount of leak will be a function of the number of EXCI
    job steps that are run.

The leaked storage will be reclaimed by VSE when a CICS job that
is the target of EXCI is shut down.

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
An EXCI job starts and does repeated EXEC CICS LINK calls to a
program on CICS. Each EXEC CICS LINK results in a complete XPCC
conversation, that is, an XPCC CONNECT to open the conversation
and an XPCC TERMPRG to terminate it.
Each XPCC CONNECT uses x'50' bytes of storage which is released
either when the connection is completed or by an XPCC DISCONN
    call.
When there is no XPCC DISCONN call to release the storage, this
eventually results in the SOS condition.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHIRPSP has been altered to issue an XPCC DISCPRG call after a
XPCC RECEIVE has failed with return codes of IJBXNOC1, IJBXNOC2
or IJBXNOC3 before attempting to reCONNECT.
